- Bilal Al-Anani: We’re thrilled to offer ADTRAN’s solution to service providers throughout the Middle East and continue to accelerate high-speed broadband connectivity across our region.
- Stuart Broome: For Waseela, this means they can help local service providers plan, design and rollout the ideal mix of fiber access and fiber extension networks, speed time-to-market and optimize cost per subscriber.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, (October 19, 2021), Waseela, a leading systems integrator in the region, announces a partnership with ADTRAN®, Inc., the leading provider of next-generation multigigabit fiber access and fiber extension solutions, to bring ADTRAN’s 60Ghz mmWave mesh solution to the Middle East and North Africa for the first time.
ADTRAN’s mmWave solutions provide lightly licensed symmetric gigabit connectivity to residential and business customers where fiber is prohibitively expensive and, in some cases, impossible to deploy.
Waseela as a leading ICT systems integrator in the region for over 14 years, recognized the need for flexible, resilient, fixed wireless broadband solutions that would support a broad range of services without the burden of costly spectrum licenses, and throughout extensive research and testing; Waseela identified the ADTRAN MetNet 60G solution as the only market-proven mesh mmWave solution operating in the 60GHz spectrum, that offers the industry’s first self-organizing and self-healing mesh technology that ensures resiliency, low latency and deployment flexibility to support Waseela’s customers’ 5G wireless backhaul, smart city applications and last-mile Gigabit broadband access services.
Waseela’s value proposition has always been around identifying and enabling innovative technologies that help our clients meet their business objectives and help facilitate successful adoption of such technologies leveraging its technical expertise and industry experience in systems integration to minimize implementation risks and challenges typically associated with large-scale and complex projects.
Among the key differentiators in this innovative solution, is the high flexibility of deployment and low total cost of ownership, making it a viable extension for fiber connectivity. This technology elevates the applications of Gigabit to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), Single Family Units (SFUs) and businesses, Rural gigabit expansion, Fiber extension and Gfast backhaul, 4G/5G small cell backhaul, CCTV smart city backhaul, Public Wi-Fi backhaul and Gigabit point-to-point LAN extension, in which all support a holistic broad of service providers’ subscribers’ experience across the middle east.
Bilal Al Anani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Waseela, expressed his views about the partnership “This technology is unique—it provides more resiliency and lower cost per bit when compared to other wireless technologies in the industry. We’re thrilled to offer ADTRAN’s solution to service providers throughout the Middle East and North Africa and continue to accelerate high-speed broadband connectivity across our region”, adding “ADTRAN is the ideal partner for Waseela, and a leading fixed wireless gigabit access vendor offering 60GHz mmWave mesh solution”. Al Anani added, “…fulfilling our commitment to our customers to provide all that is required to enable wide adoption of this solution, we are currently working with many of our customers on Proof of Concepts (POCs) and viable business use cases. In addition, we are coordinating with national regulatory bodies to complete the spectrum regulations and licensing for the 60GHz band”.
Stuart Broome, Vice President of Sales, EMEA at ADTRAN stated “Our goal is to help any type of service provider deliver amazing broadband experiences to their customers, regardless of location, size or technology. Our fiber extension solutions enable operators to expand broadband rapidly and cost-effectively in hard-to-reach and underserved areas. This makes a huge difference in these communities’ ability to benefit from online education and health services, remote working and many more services,” and added, “For Waseela, this means they can help local service providers plan, design and rollout the ideal mix of fiber access and fiber extension networks, speed time-to-market and optimize cost per subscriber.”
